QR Code Review Poster Guide: Print & Social Sizes for In-Person Reviews

Generate review QR posters with 3 templates, print sizes from stickers to 18x24 posters, and social media dimensions. Download, print, and start collecting in-person reviews today.

In-person businesses need physical touchpoints for review collection. QR codes solve this. Customers scan with their phone camera and land directly on your review form. This guide covers the three poster templates, which output sizes each one unlocks, and how to place them so they actually get scanned.

Why QR Codes Work

QR codes remove typing friction. Instead of asking customers to "search for us on Google and leave a review," you give them a scannable code. One scan, two taps, and they're on your review form.

Businesses using QR codes for review collection see 3-5x higher response rates compared to verbal requests alone. The visual prompt plus instant access removes barriers.

How to Generate Your QR Code

Open your ReviewGen.AI dashboard and follow these steps:

  1. Select your business and review form
  2. Find the "QR Code" section in your editor or dashboard
  3. Click "Generate QR Code"
  4. The system creates a QR code linked to your review link

Your QR code is permanent and never expires. You can download it multiple times in different formats and sizes without generating a new code.

The 3 Poster Templates

An important distinction first: you are not styling the QR code itself. The code is always a standard high-contrast QR — which is exactly what you want, since decorative codes are the main cause of scan failures. What you choose is the poster design around it. There are three templates, and each unlocks a different set of output sizes and editable fields.

1. Business Card — "Perfect for table tents & flyers"

Best for: Counter cards, table tents, stickers, flyers
This is the default, and the right starting point for most in-person businesses

Business Card gives you the widest range of physical print sizes, grouped into three categories:

  • Small Formats: Sticker (2" x 2"), Small Card (3.5" x 2"), Square (4" x 4")
  • Medium Formats: Table Tent (4" x 6"), Postcard (5" x 7"), A6 (4.1" x 5.8")
  • Large Formats: A5 (5.8" x 8.3"), A4 (8.3" x 11.7"), A3 (11.7" x 16.5")

Every one of these exports at 300 DPI, which is genuine print resolution — you can hand these files to a print shop without apology.

2. Minimalist — "Modern split layout"

Best for: Social media, digital screens, landscape print
Unique to this template: Instagram and Facebook handle fields, and all the digital sizes

Minimalist is the only template that offers screen dimensions, which makes it the one to use for anything that will never be printed:

  • Print Sizes: Sticker (2" x 2"), Square (4" x 4"), A5 Landscape (8.3" x 5.8"), A4 Landscape (11.7" x 8.3")
  • Social Media: Instagram Post (1080x1080), Instagram Story (1080x1920), Facebook Post (1200x630), Twitter Post (1200x675)
  • Screen Ratios: 4:3 (1600x1200) and 16:9 (1920x1080) — sized for a TV or tablet display in your waiting area

The social and screen sizes export at 72 DPI, correct for screens. It's also the only template with landscape print options, which suits a horizontal counter card or a digital menu board.

3. Premium Branded — "Elegant with full details"

Best for: Wall posters, storefront displays, anything customers read from a distance
Unique to this template: Phone, address, and email fields, and the largest sizes

  • Standard Sizes: Postcard (5" x 7"), A6 (4.1" x 5.8"), A5 (5.8" x 8.3"), A4 (8.3" x 11.7")
  • Large Formats: A3 (11.7" x 16.5"), Letter (8.5" x 11"), Tabloid (11" x 17")
  • Posters: Large Poster (18" x 24")

Premium Branded is the only template offering Letter, Tabloid, and the 18" x 24" poster, so any wall-mounted display has to come from here. It's also the only one with contact detail fields, which is why it works as a general storefront sign rather than purely a review prompt.

Choosing Between Them

The templates are not three styles of the same thing — they gate different sizes and different fields, so pick by output first:

  • Printing something that sits on a table or counter? Business Card
  • Posting to Instagram or showing it on a screen? Minimalist
  • Mounting on a wall, or want your phone and address on it? Premium Branded

Note that changing template resets your size selection to the first option, so choose the template before the size.

Editable Fields

Every template shares three text fields, pre-filled with sensible defaults you should override:

  • Title — defaults to "⭐ Love Our Service? ⭐"
  • Subtitle — defaults to "Scan to Leave a Review"
  • Description — defaults to "Your feedback helps us improve"

You can also edit the business name and website shown on the poster, and toggle your logo on or off if your business profile has one. Then, depending on template: Premium Branded adds phone, address, and email; Minimalist adds Instagram and Facebook handles.

Writing the Title and Subtitle

Keep the title short and make the subtitle explicit about the action. Some stronger alternatives to the defaults:

  • "Enjoyed your visit?" / "Scan to leave a review — takes 30 seconds"
  • "How did we do?" / "Scan and tell us"
  • "Help others find us" / "Scan to review on Google"

The single highest-value edit is putting a time estimate in the subtitle. "Takes 30 seconds" answers the objection that actually stops people from scanning, and it costs you nothing.

Placement by Size

Match the size to viewing distance, because a code that can't be scanned comfortably won't be scanned at all.

  • Sticker (2" x 2") and Small Card (3.5" x 2"): Point of contact — receipt holders, packaging, the back of a business card. Scanned from under a foot
  • Table Tent (4" x 6") and Postcard (5" x 7"): Restaurant tables, reception desks, checkout counters. Readable from 1-2 feet. Print on 80-110 lb cardstock so it stands up
  • A5 and A4: Wall mounting at eye level, bathroom mirrors, exit doors. Readable from 3-4 feet. Laminate anywhere near food or water
  • Letter, Tabloid, A3: High-traffic walls and storefront windows, readable from 6-8 feet. Needs a print shop or large-format printer
  • Large Poster (18" x 24"): Storefront and event use, readable across a room
  • Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and screen ratios: Digital only — posts, stories, email signatures, and in-store displays

One caveat on the digital sizes: someone scrolling Instagram on the same phone they'd scan with can't scan a code on their own screen. Social QR posts work when the viewer is on a second device or screenshots the code for later, so pair them with a tappable link in your bio or caption.

Downloading and Printing

The designer shows a scaled live preview with a caption telling you the exact output dimensions and DPI. Once you're happy:

  1. Click "Download QR Code"
  2. The poster renders at full resolution and downloads as a PNG
  3. The file is named for its template, link slug, and pixel dimensions — for example qr-business-card-a1b2c3-1200x1800.png
  4. Print at home, at a print shop, or through an online printing service

PNG is the only export format; there is no SVG or PDF option. That's not a practical limitation for printing, because the 300 DPI print sizes are already at press resolution — a 4" x 6" table tent downloads as a 1200x1800 pixel file. Just don't scale a downloaded PNG up in another tool; go back to the designer and export the larger size instead.

Print quality guidelines:

  • Minimum resolution: 300 DPI for print
  • Paper weight: 80-110 lb cardstock for durability
  • Lamination: Recommended for counters and tables (prevents wear)
  • Color accuracy: Ensure high contrast (dark on light or light on dark)

Test print one copy before ordering bulk. Scan the test print with your phone to verify scan reliability.

Placement Best Practices

Where you place QR codes matters as much as design. Follow these rules:

1. Place at Decision Points

Put QR codes where customers are thinking about their experience: at checkout, near the exit, or during wait times. Don't place codes at entry points — customers haven't experienced your service yet.

2. Eye Level When Possible

Customers shouldn't crouch or crane their necks to scan. Eye level or slightly below works best.

3. Good Lighting

QR codes need decent lighting to scan. Avoid dark corners, shadows, or areas with glare that obscures the code.

4. Clear Line of Sight

Don't place codes behind products, menus, or obstacles. Customers should be able to approach and scan without moving objects.

5. Multiple Touchpoints

Don't rely on one QR code location. Place codes at checkout, on tables, near exits, and on receipts. More touchpoints = more reviews.

Testing Your QR Code

Before printing bulk copies, test your QR code:

  1. Download the QR code image
  2. Display it on your computer screen or print one copy
  3. Open your phone camera app (not a QR scanner app)
  4. Point the camera at the QR code
  5. Wait for the notification banner to appear
  6. Tap the notification to open the link
  7. Verify your review form loads correctly

Test with multiple phone models (iPhone, Android) to ensure cross-device compatibility. Most camera apps recognize QR codes natively, but some older phones may require a dedicated QR scanner app.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should I print my QR code?

For counter cards and table tents, use the Table Tent (4" x 6") or Postcard (5" x 7") size in the Business Card template. For wall posters, switch to Premium Branded, which offers Letter (8.5" x 11"), Tabloid (11" x 17"), and an 18" x 24" poster. All print sizes export at 300 DPI, so a 4" x 6" downloads as a 1200x1800 pixel PNG.

Do QR codes expire or stop working?

No. QR codes generated by ReviewGen.AI are permanent. They link directly to your review form URL, which remains active as long as your account is active. You can print them and use them indefinitely.

Can I customize the QR code design?

You customize the poster around the code rather than the code itself, which is what keeps it reliably scannable. Three templates are available — Business Card, Minimalist, and Premium Branded — and each offers its own set of output sizes. You can edit the title, subtitle, description, business name, and website, toggle your logo, and add contact details on Premium Branded or social handles on Minimalist. There is no control over the code's own colours.

Can I download an SVG or PDF?

No, PNG is the only export format. In practice this rarely matters, because every print size renders at 300 DPI — press resolution. The one rule: don't scale a downloaded PNG up in another tool. Return to the designer, pick the larger size, and export again.

Where should I place my QR code posters?

Place QR codes where customers are already waiting or finishing their experience: checkout counters, table tents, exit areas, waiting rooms, receipts, packaging, or near the door. Make them visible at decision points when customers are thinking about their experience.

How do I test if my QR code works?

After downloading your QR code image, open your phone camera app and point it at the QR code on your screen or printed paper. Your phone should recognize the code and show a notification to open the link. Tap the notification to verify it loads your review form correctly.
